Nexus Clash

Suggestion: rename the Carving Knife to Dagger, and replace what used to be Dagger with the Spear. With the new weapon schema introduced into this breath, I think Spears would make the most sense as a light piercing weapon, and Carving Knives could be dummied out as they don't really have a place anymore. Also, it doesn't really make sense to throw a carving knife, whereas throwing a spear is more sensible, and since having two weapons in the same niche isn't ideal, that'd be the reason to shift the Dagger over to being a slashing weapon, in the place of the removed Carving Knife.

The kind of spear that could be conceived of as a light weapon is the kind of spear that is designed to be thrown in the first place.

Spear is a Heavy Weapon if Thrown, but a light Weapon if used in Melee.

Yes, but a javelin can still be used as a melee weapon. Same can be said of Hatchets, actually.

If it doesn't matter what the weapons actually are, but you want more variety, there could be other options?
Cleavers, billhooks, hatchets (might exist, I haven't found any yet), etc for slashing daggers.

Daggers, dirks, stilettos for piercing daggers.

And if you just want more spear type weapons, maybe a warscythe, something some of the agricultural workers in Cordillera tried to hastily put together before things happened..? Or a bardiche, or a fauchard...

A weapon that can be used via two different styles at once would require a bottom-up rework of everything about how items work.
