I'm not throwing out a specific skill here (iirc I posted one called Scars of the Flagellant years ago but it got shot down for p convincing reasons) but the Redeemed has a serious issue that is stopping people from playing it:
all the powerful Redeemed skills cost MO, but the class has no real way of getting its morality back. This issue is compounded by the fact that Redeemed are supposed to be a factionless wandering class, capable of surviving outside a stronghold: healing is the #1 way to get your MO back up into the white, and it just isn't a reliable option without factionmates around.
The class that is least-capable of getting its MO back up is the one that spends it the most. A wandering Redeemed is basically consigned to spending half their time fixing generators like a post-apocalyptic repairman.
My original suggestion was the ability to trade HP for MO, but that wasn't really workable. That doesn't mean that the issue with the class stops being an issue, though. What I'm looking for is a broader discussion of the place of Redeemed in the current morality system, and ways to fix them and make them more viable. Anybody got any good ideas for changes to the class and/or the morality system that would work to this end?
...and that skill basically does trade HP for MO. I happen to be an expert in everything related to Redeemeds, having played the bad redeemed (the hand to hand one, archery redeemeds are fine) and Mask of the Penitent (and maybe Engineering if you're a fuckass like me) are all you need to keep yourself in the white as far as morality goes
See a demon? Pop your fancy masks, lose MO, hit him, MO comes back!
See an angel? Pop your fancy masks, lose a LOT of MO, hit him, continue losing MO, fall, grind power restored until you have 27 MO, put on your penitent mask and find a petwall.
basically what I'm saying is use your penitent mask. It's real good. Also, Redeemed got kind of forgotten in the switch from "actions give you +1 or -1 MO absolutely" to "If you hit a guy real hard you lose a fuckton of MO" system. If the Penitent mask could be changed to reflect that it would be an excellent quality of life changed for redeemeds
