Hi,
I have a character that has learnt Shadow Wrap, if he then goes on to learn hide/adv hide will triggering Shadow Wrap then put the character in an adv hide state?

You should still get the damage bonus and to-hit-penalty-reduction offered by Advanced Hide.

Shadow Wrap just puts automatically puts you into a Hide state.

Personally, I've found that characters needing Shadow Wrap aren't hiding for attack purposes, and those that are get by just fine with Hide/Adv Hide.

Yes.
There's no such thing as an "advanced hide state". (Let's just pretend that Shadow Sulk doesn't exist...) There's just "hidden". The skills "hide" and "advanced hide" just let you take advantage of that "hidden" status effect a little bit more, without changing the status effect itself.
EDIT: Ninja ed by 1 minute, curses.
EDIT: I meant Shadowskulk, not Shadow Sulk. I learn something every day.
Next lesson: Do the Fallen listen to "goth metal" and talk about how nobody understands them?

Excellent, that's all I needed to know. Now to tinker somewhat with my feral Corruptor build.

Cheers for the prompt replies.

They ARE good ones. Try using them occasionally. They aren't good only because people aren't USING them.

I can confirm that this applies to Invisibility + Advanced Hide as well.

So if you're invisible, you also get the bonus from being 'hidden' when you attack?

Out of curiosity, do you get the bonus even if you're attacking someone with ES? When attacking out of invisibility, I mean.

If I remember correctly, then you should. Same with the fallen invisibility skill.
But there is a bug, so you don't.

Verified. Target was aware of me even though I was invisible, not hiding.

If there isn't a bug report out there for this already I'll make one tomorrow.

I should make demotivational image with an adorable kitty and say "every time you forget the search button, god kills a kitty".
True, you didn't forget the button. But it's still a good idea.
