Today I got another random idea how to make junk items usable.
How about adding a new ranged weapon that would not have a dedicated ammunition type, but could instead be loaded with almost any item that exists in game?
It does not need to be super-powerful, in fact it could even deal lower damage than other items of it's class - the ability to load it with random junk would be enough to give it some value.
Of course this would need some special hacks in code, but I think not that many:
- item uses as ammunition is permanently destroyed and the weapon cannot be unloaded

Not so sure about this one. Wouldn't it be more fun to have Bottles and Cans become single-use Thrown Weapons? And we could finally have Whipped Cream Pie as a Thrown Weapon? _________________ Cheers,

This would be incredibly difficult to implement as we'd need rules for every item in the game and would need to expand on it every time we added items. It's not worth it.
