I just learned whilst trying to add a link to our new discord to the Mage's Council page (as well as update the ancient references to a plane that doesn't exist) that because my character is too good, I'm not allowed to do that. This was especially baffling since I was able to freely spend renown on faction upgrades.

There are ways around this, of course: I could go kick some puppies, or get another mage to do it, or even make the faction temporarily good, but I feel this shouldn't be an issue to begin with.

For one thing, while it may make some sense for good or evil factions, it doesn't make sense that an unaligned faction would require its leaders to be neutral always all the time. The whole point of being transcended is that you are allowed to choose for yourself what is right and wrong.

Further, this is a case of IC choices interfering with OOC management of an important mechanical feature. I as a player am not unfit to alter the description of my faction, as determined by the person who promoted me to leader to begin with. Why then does an in game concept matter in the process of doing so?

I hope I've explained my reasoning well enough without being too vitriolic.

It's not even a case of IC being represented correctly - canonically, Goros, Marquai and Hashaa do not fight for moral neutrality, do not care what your morality is and have followers all over the moral spectrum. You shouldn't ever be penalized for non-neutrality in an Unaligned faction.

We already fixed this for stronghold setting and upgrade buying, but it sounds like there's things we missed. When we get a chance we can pull the Unaligned morality restrictions off of faction editing too. At this point, the continued existence of this limitation is a bug.
