Currently defensive auras grant no XP whatsoever, either from the damage dealt or from kills made. In active combat it seems a little unfair to be denied up to 30 XP (or more in certain cases) simply because the opponent was killed by an aura rather than some other weapon.
In particular, this is really annoying when fighting pets - against which auras are most effective. Since getting Clockwork Cloud for my Seraph I've actually had to either use Greater Smite, or let the Tendrils attack me a couple of times in order to ensure that I get the killing blow. Obviously this is only a luxury I can afford if I have the spare HP (which is not that often).
Suggestion: When a character or pet is killed by the defensive aura of another character, have the defending character receive an amount of XP equal to the amount he/she would gain for killing the attacker in regular combat. (Note that I'm not suggesting XP be granted for the actual damage dealt, just for kills.)
EDIT: Also, have the kills count towards the relevant kills statistic (kills, pets killed, angels killed or demons killed).
Note: If this is considered too much, then of course the XP granted could be half the normal amount (as for kills made by pets). That would still be better than nothing.

This has largely been addressed by giving defensive auras damage dealt and kill stats (including pet kills). XP is probably too much, as it would make any real tank rocket to maxout very quickly in the current pet-heavy environment.
